NORTHWEST ACADEMY
is a specialized therapeutic co-educational boarding school offering a range of classroom-driven courses
that enable your teen to earn two-years of traditional core academic
credits in one calendar year. Located in one of the country's most beautiful
natural areas, the 119-acre campus is located in the Panhandle of northern
Idaho and is surrounded by the Cabinet, Purcell, and Selkirk Mountain
ranges. This pristine setting creates a remarkable natural classroom. Our
campus is home to academic buildings, science labs, a computer lab, student
center, dining hall, fitness center, music room, soccer and softball fields,
and basketball and volleyball courts.
Providing a
structured, nurturing, and safe learning environment where drugs, sex, and
violence are not allowed, Northwest Academy provides a customized plan of
counseling and hands-on learning experiences where your son or daughter can
achieve academic success and address the issues that have caused them to
fall behind. Northwest Academy provides the guidance for students to develop
the motivation, confidence, and skills to set college and career goals, and
to assume the responsibilities of a young adult, capable of living
independently.
Individualized Curriculum
A multidisciplinary treatment team made up of psychotherapists, teachers,
substance abuse counselors, mentors, and family services coordinators
regularly assesses your son or daughter and a personalized plan is designed
to meet your son or daughter's individual needs. Your student will also have
the opportunity to participate in job shadowing, community service,
experiential education, and life long learning opportunities, such as music,
art, woodshop, photography, etc.
Higher education
Eighty percent of our graduates go on to higher education, applying to
college while at NWA with assistance from our educational services
