Qualified students are admitted any time during the year. It strongly recommended that all applicants have completed ASCENT or another credible therapeutic wilderness program prior to enrollment. Attending a wilderness program creates the emotional foundation your child will need to be successful at Northwest Academy.

Tuition

At Northwest Academy, we understand that the decision to enroll your child is very difficult and there are many considerations you must make in the process. Northwest Academy's student life is rich and varied. To make your decision to enroll as easy as possible, we offer an inclusive tuition for our families that includes all provided services, including:

  • Room and board
  • Academic curriculum
  • All academic materials
  • SAT/ACT Testing
  • Field trips and other recreational and cultural activities
  • Weekly family and group therapy with licensed mental health practitioners
  • Individual therapy, as needed
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Nursing services
  • Transportation services
  • Personal hygiene supplies and toiletries

Please call our Admissions office for tuition rates. There is a one-time fee for registration, orientation, original equipment and supplies, registration for two parents to attend the basic parent workshop, student's portion of the Discovery, Life Challenge, and Family Adventure trips. Consulting psychiatric services, dental, and community medical services are billed to students' families by the individual service provider. Optional college fees are billed directly to parents.

We make the choice to enroll at Northwest Academy easier by offering parents several financial alternatives. A helpful Financial Aid Counselor is available to assist with the application process and to describe the various financial options.

Financial Services

Non-public school funding (NPS)

If your child has a disability that your school district cannot accommodate, you may be entitled to some reimbursement from your district. Let our financial professionals provide you with information to begin this process. Be sure to notify your school district before taking your child out of your local school.

State adoption and mental health agency assistance

Depending on the circumstances of the adoption of your child or his or her mental health diagnosis, you may be eligible for state assistance. Let our financial professionals review your individual situation for reimbursement possibilities.

Insurance verification

If you have medical insurance, there may be some reimbursement available under your mental health benefits.

Credit card payment

We accept most major credit cards: VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express Automatic credit card authorization for monthly charges is available. Credit card payments may be made by telephone.

Clothing list

One of our objectives at Northwest Academy is to help students create healthy relationships based on who they are, not the way they appear. As a result we require our students to wear practical, durable clothing that’s free from distracting logos, labels or trends.
