| Dan Tadlock, LMSW - Senior Clinician
We are excited to have a therapist of Dan’s caliber working with our students and their families. He comes to Northwest Academy following three years of working as a wilderness therapist with adolescents. After receiving his Masters of Social Work from Eastern Washington University, Dan began his career in a variety of mental health facilities working with all levels of acuity from anxiety to Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. Dan is a gifted and talented clinician assisting teenagers and their parent’s work through sensitive material.
Dan is an excellent example of someone who embraces our core philosophy of balancing work, family, and enjoying life with his family. He enjoys working with teenagers and values their spirit and enthusiasm. Dan has been helping teenagers tackle life’s challenges through many different roles including; therapist, mentor, ropes course instructor, wilderness guide, directing international charity projects, and coaching high school soccer.
During his free time you can find Dan out hiking with his boys, helping a friend finish a project, or playing volleyball or basketball.

Solon Wolf, LPC, CADC I, Counseling Psychology- Therapist
Solon has enjoyed working with adolescents since 1998. He received a specialization in Addictions from Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon and has contributed greatly to the effort of Northwest Academy in developing this area of the clinical program. His experience in Residential Drug Treatment Centers previously with both youth and adults is meaningful when working with families that may have substance or addiction issues.
Solon’s favorite past time is snowboarding, surfing and most anything that is a challenge.

Carolyn Chiappetta, MFA, MS, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (Montana and Idaho) - Therapist
Carolyn began her career in the arts as an Interior Designer. She also received degrees in Art Education and Silver & Goldsmithing. She continued her education and completed a Masters in Fine Arts. She spent five years teaching at a Montessori High School. As the Director of the branch of her church, she headed a ten-member board for four years fund-raising and rebuilding the church. Because of her interest in working with families, she obtained her second Masters of Science in Health and Human Development, Marriage and Family. She has worked with adolescents in an alternative school as well as in a therapeutic boarding school for the seven years prior to joining the staff here at Northwest Academy. She specializes in trauma work with adolescents. She is a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist. This modality has been used for over 20 years with a high success rate for war veterans, victims of rape and other serious traumas. She enjoys playing guitar, photography, and is in the process of working to get her dog Santos registered as a Therapy dog.
Mary Cook, RN
Lead Nurse
Northwest Academy is privileged to have Mary join our school. Mary has nearly twenty years nursing experience including Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Medical Surgical Nursing and ICU working in several hospitals throughout the Northwest. When Mary is not tending to a headache, sore throat or skinned knee at NWA, you will find her hiking in our beautiful mountains either on horseback or on foot, but always with her camera. She is an accomplished photographer as well.
