Several multi-day trips are offered at Northwest Academy to supplement each student's academic program. These enrichment activities enhance the core curricular subjects and offer students an opportunity to experience the subject matter through hands-on activities while earning academic credit. Discovery trips combine the best of
personal-growth, outdoor education, and substantive academic study to create a meaningful learning experience. On a discovery trip, students answer challenging questions about themselves and the world around them. The curriculum for each trip is built around a guiding question that provides focus for the academic, outdoor, and emotional growth activities. The experience also includes a community service project, allowing students to give back to the community, while making the learning more meaningful for the students.
